I have been a faithful State Farm customer for over 10 years with most of those years with Harvey Scroggs. I have sat in his office and joked with him and his employees on many occasions. So it is with great sorrow that I have to write this review, but Harvey did not care for me as a customer or even attempt to keep my business and smooth things over after an unfortunate event. They took my premium every month from my debit card and this past February my bank sent me a new card with the chip inside. Well, that meant my old card expired and so my premium did not go through. They sent me a couple of generic post cards telling me to call them but they send so many postcards trying to sell extra stuff that they were just put aside. Needless to say, I had a 32 day lapse of coverage and now have an $800 fine from the DMV. They have my cell phone, my email but chose to snail mail me a post card to call them. It wasn't until my daughter bought a car and called them to add it to the insurance that I knew I had a problem. Something as important as not paying your insurance should have been a phone call! ALL THEY HAD TO DO IS CALL ME AND GET MY NEW CREDIT CARD INFO! Insurance agents like to bill themselves as hometown folks with great customer service, but I guess when a little effort is involved then it's too much trouble to worry with to pick up the phone and call your client that has been paying you thousands and thousands of dollars for years! I paid up my premium and went in a couple of weeks later to get copies of my policies and told Harvey the story and said I was moving my business elsewhere; no empathy...no sympathy...no apology...nothing. I mentioned as I was leaving that I had hoped he would at least give a little fight to keep my business...nothing. He obviously has been successful enough to not care about his customers anymore. I have moved my business to another agent that still cares about her clients and is there to help, inform and improve their insurance needs. If customer service is important to you, take your business elsewhere and don't trust most of the fake reviews he has had posted all around the same time here on Google.
